Why “Velora”?

Our team name, Velora, is a fusion of two powerful ideas: velocity, symbolizing speed and precision, and aurora, symbolizing beauty, energy, and transformation.

We chose the aurora as part of our identity because it reflects who we are and how we work:

• Its flowing waves mirror the aerodynamic, fluid design of our high-performance F1 car.

• The charged particles that create auroras can reach speeds of up to 45 million mph—a natural symbol of extreme velocity.

• Auroras are vibrant, stunning, and unforgettable—just like our brand, visual identity, and bold team presence.

• Their rarity reflects our team’s uniqueness and standout approach in everything we do.

• The ever-changing patterns of the aurora represent our adaptability—we evolve, adjust, and improve with every challenge.

Wind tunnel innovation.

Our team collaborated with the IU Engineering Club to design and construct a custom wind tunnel, built primarily from recycled materials. This tunnel is capable of measuring real-world drag coefficients and supports a broad range of aerodynamic testing. It is equipped with strategically placed pressure sensors to ensure accurate and reliable data collection.
